Kate was given a tour of Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, where she saw a number of aircraft used by the armed forces. She also tried flying a helicopter simulator, used by crews to practice flying Wildcat MK 2 helicopters.
She was appointed Commodore in Chief of the British navy’s Fleet Air Arm by King Charles over the summer, taking over from Prince Andrew.
Her husband, Prince William, is set to fly to New York on Monday ahead of this year’s Earthshot Prize, which aims to find solutions to the planet’s biggest environmental problems through new technologies and ideas.
