Five Americans imprisoned in Iran for years made a return to the U.S. Tuesday. Their plane touched down from Qatar at a military airfield near Washington, D.C. In exchange for the Americans, President Joe Biden unfroze $6 billion in Iranian assets. The funds released to Iran represents money South Korea owed Iran for oil before the U.S. imposed sanctions on the transactions in 2019. Five Iranian nationals were also released from U.S. custody as part of the deal.
