In court, text messages between Karen Read and her Boston police officer boyfriend, John O’Keefe, showing a relationship in crisis, were shown during testimony. Read and O’Keefe argued via text in the hours before O’Keefe was found dead on the side of the road. Read is accused of striking him with her SUV and leaving him to die. Read’s defense claims O’Keefe was beaten by other people at a party. Court TV’s Matt Johnson, who is covering the case, speaks with Inside Edition.
