So we are in more than 80 markets already running for speed. “China EV producers don’t have, in these products, or generally speaking, a long tradition. Therefore they can immediately react to the market demands, to customer demands, and can deliver very, very fast. This is my personal experience. We’ve done most of these cars in two years – from zero to 100 in two years. In Europe and also in the United States, it will take from 5 now to 4 years. It takes 4 years to deliver a product. So China is doing it, we are doing it, in half the time.”

“After all it comes down to cost-performance ratio and differentiation. As far as the cost-performance ratio is concerned, there is no doubt that Chinese automakers have performed most prominently. Secondly, there is differentiation. In the past years overseas automobile companies were too slow in technological upgrading, while Chinese brands have provided a lot of new configurations, such as all kinds of advanced smart driving assistance and air suspension systems and so on. In the past, these are installed only in high-end models of foreign brands, which cost higher prices, but Chinese brands don’t put extra charges. They are given for free, making the products look good value for money.”

“The trade war between China and the United States blocked the direct export from China to the United States, but it didn’t block the local production there, neither did it block the establishment of global production bases in Europe or elsewhere. Although the United States is fighting a trade war against China, it is still maintaining a comparatively lower tariff rates with others such as the United Kingdom.”
