We’re doing a workshop of it today and I just had such an inspiring, like eight hours just talking about the play, figuring it out, so we’re very excited to start showing people what we’ve been doing.”
(Reporter: What is the challenge for you taking something that’s kind of known with a very known performer and making it perfect for the stage.”)
“Yeah, well for me it’s an opportunity to fall in love with the genius that is Prince. Like getting that kind of intimacy with his music, the catalog, the stories they were trying to tell. I know for me, it’s as satisfying to just be around that work as anything. And I’m really, you know, this is a – I’ve never had a project like this where anytime I say to people that I’m working on this, I have the most incredible interactions with fans who like pull me into a corner and want to tell me a story. And I’m so honored to be able to bring this to life for them, people who lived with his legacy, lived with influence, lived with music and magic for so long. I feel like it’s really a time for celebration of what he really gave to culture.”
