"When I read the script and saw that Chris was a birder, I was very excited to really, it’s as method as I’ve ever gone, which is to really go and be this person and I went to Prospect Park in Brooklyn and birded, looked up East Coast Atlantic birds versus Pacific Northwest birds. And my dresser at SNL is a park ranger and she gifted me a bunch of birding books and it’s this wonderful thing that I recommend to everybody. Couples therapy and birding."
(Reporter: Is there a learning curve? It feels kind of daunting.)
"There’s no learning curve. It’s really just like, and the learning curve is so community based that you go, like I would go to Prospect Park and there would be all these other people doing it. There would be like elderly women to like 20 something people my age, not my age but younger than me and like we would all just be like It’s this whisper network of like, there’s a scarlet tangerine."
