Ukraine and the US have agreed a deal that is expected to give Washington access to Ukraine’s mineral deposits. The US calls it a signal of its commitment to Ukrainian sovereignty.
The Trump administration had long pushed for the deal – under terms that were initially seen as extortionate in Kyiv. Now, both sides are hailing the revised agreement they signed in Washington on Wednesday.
