Ukraine and the United States have agreed a deal granting the US access to Ukrainian mineral deposits. Washington says it’s a signal of its commitment to Ukrainian sovereignty.
The Trump administration has been pushing for this deal for some time, initially under terms that Kiev was said to have viewed as extortionate. Both sides are now hailing the revised agreement, which was signed in Washington on Wednesday.
