US President Donald Trump hosts Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney for their first meeting since April’s parliamentary elections in Canada. Carney said he intended to discuss tariffs and broader relationship expecting "difficult but constructive" discussions with Trump.
The talks come amid frayed ties in the wake of Trump’s imposed tariffs, as well as repeated comments about making Canada the 51st US state.
