When the price of oil is high, there is more spending. And when the price of oil is low, spending is low. This has affected the sustainability of infrastructure projects in the kingdom. And so one of the main branches of the kingdom’s Vision 2030 is a program for non-oil revenue streams. If we look at this program, you will find that one of the most important branches and strategic sectors in it is the tourism sector. Tourism in Saudi Arabia used to solely be about Hajj and Umrah (Islamic pilgrimages). But our country has really great potential in attracting different kinds of tourists.”

"We are targeting tourists from within the kingdom, from the Middle East and from areas in South Asia like India, China and Japan. Now the market (here) is very important for us. This is our fifth participation. What makes this participation special is that we have seven partners, including the first hotel that was opened (in Diriyah), the Bab Samhan hotel which has a capacity of 130 rooms. Additionally, we have six tourism companies based inside and outside the kingdom. This show the importance of this participation and the investment opportunities that can be created at this market."

"Since around 2018, tourism in Qatar has started to boom. The World Cup has played a very important and pivotal role in placing Qatar on the world tourism map. But today, thank God, almost three years after the end of the World Cup, Qatar has achieved nearly 100% success in increasing the number of tourists. We can say that in 2022, we had 2.5 million tourists. In 2024, by the end of the year, we have achieved a 100% increase, reaching 5.1 million tourists. These are all signs that we are interested in tourism. Of course, that makes our mission harder and harder."
