STORYLINE:
A convoy of 40 to 50 historic military vehicles passed through several small villages in western Bohemia in the Czech Republic on Friday to commemorate the end of the Second World War.

"I attend regularly, and I think it’s more of a thank you to all those who died in this war," said Josef Kopunec, one of the drivers.

The event was organized by local historical groups and military vehicle enthusiasts.

For most of them, it means a lot of work and preparation.

"It costs a lot of money, and you have to take care of it after every ride, and after every weekend you spend doing this," said one participant, Stepan Ondracek

The convoy marked the anniversary of the US Army’s liberation of the southern and western parts of the Czech Republic.
