3. SOUNDBITE (English) Dan Lee, West Columbia Resident:
"Before they came, man, you know, I had holes in the ceiling where it got wet and the sheetrock had failed. And like, I think in like two rooms of the house, you know. And it was just a hundred-year-old house. I had all old wood windows where they was seeping air and stuff, you, know, they put all you windows in and stuff. So. It was raggly. I could honestly say it was raggly. I was ashamed of it."

18. SOUNDBITE (English) Debbie Allensworth, Mosaic in Action executive director and co-founder:
"You can imagine what it’s like to be in your home, never knowing how much rain’s gonna come in that day. And we have homeowners who are just still waiting for a tarp just to keep the inside of their house dry. And every time it rains, without a tarp on your house is more damage happening to the inside. And without those valuable workers, we just can’t do the work."

20. SOUNDBITE (English) Dan Lee, West Columbia Resident:
"From my house all the way to Brazoria, you know, we did what they did, work on people’s houses. And I still volunteer for them, and I still dream that one day God’s going to bless them with the finances that they need to keep doing what they’re doing."
