STORYLINE:
Star Wars fans gathered on Sunday at the exhibition “Expo Yoda” in Santiago to celebrate Star Wars Day when lovers of the franchise get to greet others with “May the Fourth be with you” in a nod to the classic movie line, “May the force be with you."
The event, held at Araucano Park, brought together fans of all ages who dressed as their favorite Star Wars characters on the informal holiday celebrating the space epic.
Star Wars Day was created by fans as a sly nod to one of the films’ most popular catchphrases, “May the force be with you.”
In the Chilean capital, the free-entry event offered lightsaber combat classes for children, themed exhibitions, cosplay contests, live music, and collector stands.
Many fans also celebrated International Star Wars Day at Nowa’s Cantina, a restaurant considered the first “concept art” cantina in Latin America inspired by the Star Wars saga.
The venue featured a variety of activities, including lightsaber duels and musical performances.
