India-Pakistan : Have reported ceasefire violations been verified? | DW News

People on both sides of the border are welcoming the ceasefire agreement reached between India and Pakistan.

There were celebrations in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad after the truce was announced. It follows days of escalating cross-border missile and drone attacks. The military confrontation was triggered by a militant attack on Indian-administered Kashmir last month that killed 26 people – most of them Indian tourists. US President Donald Trump announced the truce, saying it followed mediation efforts by Washington.
