STORYLINE:
On any given Saturday, deacon Juan Pérez Gómez climbs a hill to a small church in the remote Mayan community of Simojovel, situated in the mountainous state of Chiapas.
Since as a deacon he can’t consecrate, he must walk to this church a day before he performs service to pick up the consecrated wafers the local priest has left for him.
