"At the moment, food security is completely nonexistent. The things that children need — a semi-balanced diet for children, things that are essential for building their bodies — are all nonexistent. Even if these things are available in the market, their prices are very high. We can’t afford them. Flour, which is the most basic and important thing, is completely nonexistent. It’s almost nonexistent for most people, most tents, most displaced people."

"We’ve been kneading pasta for two weeks, and today we’ve run out. We knead pasta so we can feed the children. Our food supplies are almost gone. There are no lentils, chickpeas or legumes. We even kneaded and ate pasta. We’ve accepted death, bombing, rockets and displacement. Why are they fighting our children? What is their (the children’s) fault? Why the children? Why the policy of starvation? They slaughtered us with starvation. They didn’t slaughter us, they slaughtered our children."

"We’re afraid of dying of starvation — the death we used to hear about. We’re afraid of dying of starvation. We’re not afraid of dying from missiles, we’re afraid that our children will die of hunger in front of us. They get dizzy and fall in front of us, and you’re helpless."

STORYLINE:
Dozens of Palestinians, mostly women and children, gather everyday outside a charity kitchen that distributes hot meals to displaced families in southern Gaza.
Most of the Strip’s population have been suffering to feed their children as Israel’s continued blockade entered its third month.
“We’re exhausted,” said Sara Younis, a woman from the southernmost city of Rafah, as she was waiting to get a hot meal for her children.
"There’s no food, no flour, nothing. I swear, we’re exhausted."
Israel has blockaded all entrances to the Gaza Strip since March.
While pummeling the strip with airstrikes, it has banned any food, water, shelter, medication from entering a territory where 90% of the population is reliant on humanitarian aid to survive.
Aid groups have expressed concerns that gains they made during the six-week ceasefire between January and February to avert famine in parts of the Strip have been diminishing.
“Our food supplies are almost gone,” said Nidal Abu Helal, a displaced man from Rafah who works in Tikeya.
