"It’s pain in the butt. It’s really a lot of time. Everybody’s got to take off from work to be here. I feel like they should have done more to make it easier for people to get this. For example, there’s only a couple of locations in the whole state that issue the ID on the spot. I don’t know why they couldn’t let other jurisdictions and venues allow that staff to print the IDs. That would probably reduce the wait time a lot."

Pennsylvania residents were waiting for hours outside a driver license center in a suburban town near Philadelphia on Tuesday to get their Real ID before the enforcement begins tomorrow.
Renel Leggett, a college student from West Chester, Pennsylvania, spent three hours Tuesday to get her Real ID at PennDOT’s Driver License Center in King of Prussia and was not happy about it. Many people echoed that frustration. Michael Aceto said that the state should have made it more easier for residents to get the IDs.
While it was initially said that people would not be able to fly domestically without a REAL ID or other TSA-approved form of identification once the May 7 deadline hits, the head of Homeland Security said Tuesday that travelers will still be able to fly, but should be prepared for additional steps at TSA.
REAL ID is a federally compliant state-issued license or identification card that Homeland Security says is a more secure form of identification. It was a recommendation by the 9/11 Commission and signed into law in 2005.
The commission recommended the government set security standards for state-issued driver’s licenses and IDs. It was supposed to be rolled out in 2008 but implementation has been repeatedly delayed.
Besides needing a REAL ID to fly domestically, people will also need one to access certain federal buildings and facilities.
In recent weeks, Noem has been warning the American public about the upcoming deadline. In a television ad put out by Homeland Security, she warned that these IDs were needed for air travel and for entering public buildings, adding: “These IDs keep our country safe.”
