STORYLINE:
Welcome to the first Monday in May!
It’s Met Gala time and the theme was menswear, specifically Black dandyism, tailoring and style.
The starry guest list amounts to about 450 high-profile people from tech, sports, art, entertainment and more.
Sabrina Carpenter, Rosé and Anna Sawai were spotted leaving the nearby Mark Hotel before the event.
This is the first Met Gala to focus exclusively on Black designers, and the first in more than 20 years to have a menswear theme.
Among the hosts are Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo and A$AP Rocky.
The gala raises the bulk of the budget for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
