On the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Israel and Germany, the German president has called on Israel to end its blockade of Gaza and allow aid into the strip immediately.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog is visiting Berlin to mark the anniversary. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will also visit Israel to underline the importance of the post-Holocaust relationship. In a joint press conference, Steinmeier asked Herzog to commit to lifting the aid blockade.
