"It will have a big impact on the country’s cricket because we have foreign players who were coming from abroad and being very prosperous (in their careers here). In the last two years, we had improved the cricket (sector) so much that our country has even had a champion trophy. We had improved cricket. But after the Indian attack, there will be a bad impact on our country’s cricket."

4. SOUNDBITE (Urdu) Rashid Lateef, former Pakistani cricketer:
"It is sad that they are moving the PSL (Pakistan Super League) from here (to the United Arab Emirates). It was happening in Lahore, Karachi or Rawalpindi, but it was the need of hour (to move it)."

6. SOUNDBITE (Urdu) Rashid Lateef, former Pakistani cricketer:
"The situation between Pakistan and India is tense, which is why they postponed the matches. The option to postpone was good and it would have happened later (anyways). And before deciding, the Pakistan Cricket Board should have consulted with all the cricket boards, whether their players have come from Bangladesh, Afghanistan, New Zealand or England. Anyway, our job is to support the decision of the Pakistan Cricket Board and the government at this time."

8. SOUNDBITE (Urdu) Rashid Lateef, former Pakistani cricketer:
"It won’t make that much of a difference with international cricket matches. And as of today the IPL (Indian Premier League ) has also postponed, and they (the Indian Board) have taken it (the decision) forward. I think then that this (decision) does not need to be made an issue. But some countries may make this an issue that Pakistan is not safe place for them. But still it shouldn’t be an issue for international matches here in Pakistan."

10. SOUNDBITE (Urdu) Ayatullah Khan, cricket fan:
"This decision should have been taken a day or two earlier because the situation here is that players from India and players from different countries were here. So this a good step, moving the matches from here to Dubai."

STORYLINE:
Pakistan decided Friday to move the remaining eight matches of its Pakistan Super League Twenty20 competition to the United Arab Emirates following rising military tensions with India.
The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed the relocation to Dubai in a statement released early Friday, citing growing concerns among overseas players and the need to prioritize their safety.
Once logistical arrangements are completed, the final schedule, including revised dates and venues, will be announced.
Rawalpindi, Multan and Lahore were due to host the remaining games.
On Thursday, an Indian drone fell inside the complex of the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium hours before the start of PSL game in which several foreign cricketers from New Zealand, Australia, West Indies, South Africa and England were due to compete.
"The situation between Pakistan and India is tense, which is why they postponed the matches," said former Pakistani cricketer Rashid Lateef.
Lateef said it was sad that games are being moved, but added that this "shouldn’t be an issue for international matches here in Pakistan."
Cricket fan Ayatullah Khan said the decision should have been taken earlier.
