1. U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins arriving for news conference
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Brooke Rollins, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture:
"I believe so strongly that last Thursday and the announcement marked just the first of hopefully many steps moving forward. Again, the importance from my perspective of this country and our partnership with the United States and as President Trump is moving out across the globe and we as his cabinet are as well to ensure that America that are ag. products, frankly that all of our products are treated fairly on the world stage, that as we’re realigning an economy that is based on that fairness and reciprocal trade that this is going to continue to be a significant priority at this administration over the next four years. But starting with the UK and starting with a deal that was announced last Thursday is it from my perspective but I think I speak on behalf of my boss President Trump is just the first step of what hopefully will be many. And the more that we can align and partner with our allies, again, I can’t say it enough, food security is national security. The UK, for example, really relies on China and Russia for your seafood. America has extraordinary best-in-class seafood that, let’s talk about that. Let’s talk how we can also then take some of what you all do best and move it into America as we continue to build that partnership."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Brooke Rollins, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture:
"It means everything, but certainly pork and poultry are at the front I believe of the line, along with rice and seafood and some other things. But pork and poultry are a very important piece of this. And I believe that, and what has been shown is, that the industries in America which are feeding the world, the opportunity to provide more choice for your consumers here in the UK is just an incredible opportunity to work alongside your leadership to see what that could look like."

STORYLINE:
U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins said on Tuesday the US-UK trade deal is "the first of hopefully many steps moving forward" during her visit to the UK.
The Trump administration announced a trade deal with the United Kingdom last Thursday in grandiose terms, but with only limited details about what it will achieve.
The agreement will open up the British market to American beef, ethanol, and other agricultural products, the White House said.
It will also allow British cars and steel better access to U.S. consumers.
The pact provides some support for President Donald Trump’s arguments that his steep tariffs could lead to agreements that open up overseas markets.
But economists’ initial reactions were cool, with many noting that the United Kingdom isn’t a large enough trading partner for the U.S. to really move the needle for the U.S. economy.
Asked about possible additional products for negotiations with the UK, Rollins told reporters in London "it means everything, but certainly pork and poultry are at the front I believe of the line, along with rice and seafood and some other things".
U.S. President Donald Trump opened his four-day Middle East trip on Tuesday by paying a visit to Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for talks on U.S. efforts to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program, end the war in Gaza, hold down oil prices and more.
