"Well my daughter watched it with me last night because she can’t come to the premiere because she’s got her GCSEs. She’s got like a history GCSE on the day after the premiere in the morning. She can’t come. I told Tom the other day that she wasn’t coming and he was so incensed he’s like ‘Why does she need to do exams?’ I said ‘Look, I’ve got to be strict here.’"
(Reporter: "I love that, can Tom Cruise not give her a note not to do her exams?")
"I told him specifically not to cos he’s known Tilly since she was a baby and they’re very close, you know. He’s really sweet with her and they’ve always had a nice relationship and last night I allowed him to give her the ‘you don’t need to do exams’ speech just because, you know? And she was like ‘Yeah Dad.’ But he’s joking, you know, he’s kidding around. It’s all very well for him who’s lived a life in movies and kind of literally educated himself in every way to where he is now. I’m like ‘Yes, that is possible, but you are an exception to the rule and she needs to do her GCSEs.’"
