STORYLINE:
"The Sound of Falling," from German filmmaker Mascha Schilinski, had its world premiere in competition for the top prize, the Palme d’Or, at the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday.
The German-language drama spans a century on a German farm, as the lives of four young girls from different time periods become intertwined.
Its cast includes Lena Urzendowsky, Luise Heyer, Susanne Wüst and Lea Drinder.
Originally given the working title, "The Doctor Says I’ll Be Alright, But I’m Feelin’ Blue," "Sound of Falling" was co-written by the director with Louise Peter.
The movie is Schilinski’s second feature, having made her debut with "Dark Blue Girl" in 2017.
