"The Hoo Lee Gans" are a group of die-hard Giants fans who love the city, they love the Giants and they love their favorite player, Jung Hoo Lee. He has a lineage of baseball greatness in Korea. His father was a legend there. And he knows that the way that his father plays is the way he plays. So many people have been fans for many, many years. And they’ve reached out to us, especially from Korea, to say how much it means that we’ve embraced him as one of our own."

STORYLINE:
The San Francisco Giants have a new fan club, and it’s not your average cheering section.
Introducing the "Hoo Lee Gans," a vibrant group of fans united by their admiration for center fielder Jung Hoo Lee.
More than 100 members of the fan club showed up at the team’s Korean Heritage Night.
Jung Hoo Lee, affectionately known as the "Grandson of the Wind" in homage to his father, the legendary Korean shortstop Jong Beom Lee, has been making waves this season in the MLB.
After a stellar career in the KBO, where he was a five-time Gold Glove winner and the 2022 MVP, Lee joined the Giants on a six-year, $113 million deal.
After a devastating injury shortened his first season with the Giants, Lee has been a standout performer so far in 2025.
He’s sitting in the top 20 in the league in everal offensive categories including hits, batting average and on-base percentage.
Members of the Hoo Lee Gans gather together in the same section at Oracle Park, donning Lee’s jerseys and flaming orange wigs, all in the name of supporting their favorite player and promoting Korean culture.
Much like their archrivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers, who have successfully tapped into the Japanese market by signing top players from Japan, the Giants see Jung Hoo Lee as a potential bridge to South Korea talent.
