A small number of trucks carrying flour and other supplies have been allowed entry into Gaza after international pressure on Israel.
However, fuel is still not allowed in, as a result the UN said water wells in parts of the Gaza strip are shutting down and a full shutdown of water and sanitation facilities is possible by the end of the week.
Half a million people face starvation in the coming months, an assessment by the UN-backed Integrated Food Security Phase Classification said after the 11-week aid blockade by the Israelis.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanhyahu accused some of his country’s closest allies of “being on the wrong side of humanity” after the UK, French and Canadian leaders criticised Israel for its ongoing military escalation and lack of humanitarian aid in Gaza.
