"Every time we have a meeting with the U.S, we leave with the sense that progress has been made, or at least we have reached mutual understanding. But unfortunately when the U.S negotiators return to Washington, they express different positions. This recurring pattern of creating of uncertainty makes any negotiation process difficult. It also further raises doubts about whether the other side is truly serious in the negotiations."

++ON IRAN REACTION IF EUROPE TRIGGERS SNAPBACK MECHANISM++
"Naturally we will take reciprocal actions, as we have announced before. This means we will reassess our current policies. Therefore we hope that European countries reconsider the stances they have adopted in recent months, especially in the media, where they try to use this tool (the snapback mechanism), which is certainly a double-edged sword, to pressure Iran."

STORYLINE:
Iran says the U.S is in no position to grant or deny permission for uranium enrichment, as U.S officials insist they will not allow Iran to enrich uranium.
"We do not seek anyone’s permission for enrichment. America is in no position to grant or deny a right recognized under the non-proliferation treaty for all countries," said Esmail Baghaei, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman on Monday.
The comments come a day after president Donald Trump’s envoy said the U.S couldn’t allow even 1% of an enrichment capability.
“We have one very, very clear red line, and that is enrichment. We cannot allow even 1% of an enrichment capability,” Steve Witkoff said during an interview with ABC’s “This Week.”
Iran and the U.S have held four rounds of talks over Tehran’s rapidly advancing nuclear program.
No time and venue for the next round has been announced so far.
Baghaei also denied any offers by the U.S in writing.
Trump said on Friday that Iran has an American proposal on the table.
The president’s remarks represented the first time he’s acknowledged an American proposal is with Tehran after multiple rounds of negotiations between U.S. Mideast envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
