Strange things are happening in the Baltic Sea. It’s a hotspot for undersea communications cables. And increasingly an area where geopolitical tensions between NATO states and Russia are on the rise. A series of incident in which undersea infrastructure was damaged led NATO countries to suspect systematic sabotage. We’ll explore what evidence there really is, how the incidents fit into the wider context of Russia’s hybrid war and evaluate how NATO is reacting.
