The Re-Creation Retreat, a private boarding school in a remote patch of Arizona, promises therapy and structured learning to troubled girls between the ages of 13 and 18, according to its website. But some residents, who are now grown women, allege they were held against their will, denied contact with their parents, forced to perform manual labor, and forbidden to speak or to even look at anyone. They also allege brainwashing and physical assaults. Seven women recalled their experiences to Inside Edition Digital’s Deborah Hastings. They say fear, despair and emotional wounds still haunt them.
