STORYLINE:
Asked about the prisoners’ exchange being prepared, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the big swap of 1,000 prisoners on each side is a “quite laborious process” that “requires some time.”
“The work is continuing at a quick pace, everybody is interested to do it quickly,” Peskov said.
Asked about possible timing for the next round of Russian-Ukrainian talks. Peskov said that “there is no concrete agreement about the next meetings, they are yet to be agreed upon,” adding that “now the work is being conducted to implement the agreements reached in Istanbul.”
Asked to comment on WSJ report claiming that Trump told European leaders after a call with Putin that the Russian leader wasn’t interested in talks because he thinks that Russia is winning, Peskov said:
