STORYLINE:
Iranian filmmaker Saeed Roustaee premiered his latest drama "Mother and Child" at Cannes film festival.
The director was joined by the film’s stars Parinaz Izadyar, Payman Maadi, Arshida Dorostkar and more for the event which took place on Thursday early afternoon.
The film follows widow Mahnaz who has to manage a job, raising her kids and dealing with her rebellious older son. As she gets ready to remarry a coworker, her son gets expelled from school and everything stars getting turned upside down.
"Mother and Child" is Roustaee’s fourth feature film; his previous drama "Leila’s Brothers" in 2022 was also in competition in Cannes.
The film is one among the 22 competing for the Palme d’Or.
The 78th Cannes Film Festival runs 13-24 May.
