“Despite China’s repeated dissuasion, the Philippines has repeatedly sent personnel to illegally land on Tiexian Reef (known as Sandy Cay in English) of China’s Nansha Islands, seriously infringing on China’s sovereignty and gravely violating the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties (DOC) in the South China Sea. China’s response is fully necessary, legitimate and lawful. The Philippine side should immediately stop its infringements and provocations, otherwise China will make a resolute response. We urge the U.S. not to use the Philippines to stir up trouble in the South China Sea and not to undermine peace and stability in the region.”

STORYLINE:
China on Friday said the move by President Donald Trump administration to ban international students from Harvard would harm America’s international standing.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security on Thursday revoked Harvard’s ability to enroll international students, saying the school has created an unsafe campus environment by allowing “anti-American, pro-terrorist agitators” to assault Jewish students on campus.
The move could force as many as 6,800 foreign students at the school outside of Boston — more than a quarter of its total enrollment — to transfer or leave the country.
Chinese students make up a large part of Harvard University’s international student population.
China considers educational cooperation with the U.S. mutually beneficial and opposes its politicization, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a daily briefing in Beijing when asked about the situation.
