It is going just to security, and right now because of what happened in Washington DC, every Jewish organization, every Jewish institution is revisiting their security plans, is reviewing their protocols—what training do they need to bring in, how do they harden the facilities, and so forth. And it is a real shame, like David said, none of us will go to a wedding, a funeral, a bar mitzvah, or a regular day school program without seeing some form of security meet us at the gate."

STORYLINE:
Several Jewish organizations and Chicago officials held a press conference Friday to condemn the fatal shooting of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, Israeli Embassy staffers, on Wednesday night as they were leaving an event at a Jewish museum.
The suspect, Elias Rodriguez, is a Chicago resident.
Speaking at the press conference, David Goldenberg, Midwest Regional Director of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) called the attack "an act of antisemitism."
According to court documents, Elias Rodriguez, 31, shouted “Free Palestine” as he was led away after his arrest.
He faces charges of murder of foreign officials and other crimes and did not enter a plea during a perfunctory court appearance.
Speakers at the press conference called for greater safety and security for Jewish communities.
"It is a shame that none of us will go to a wedding, a funeral, a bar mitzvah, or a regular day school program without seeing some form of security meet us at the gate," said Dan Goldwin, Chief of Public Affairs Officer for the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Chicago.
