1. 00:00 SOUNDBITE (English): Enzo Maresca, Chelsea head coach:
"We are quite lucky in this aspect because if we win, we do our job, we don’t need to pay attention to the other results. For sure, if we are not winning we probably need to pay attention, but we have the privilege that it depends on us."
2. 00:24 SOUNDBITE (English): Enzo Maresca, Chelsea head coach:
"Any pressure? When you join Chelsea, you feel the pressure since day one. You don’t need to play this kind of game to feel more pressure or less pressure. I feel pressure since I joined the club because it’s a club that you need to win games. And we won many games this season, but probably we need one more, you know, the most important one."
3. 00:53 SOUNDBITE (English): Enzo Maresca, Chelsea head coach:
"And now the focus is Sunday’s game that is the next one, it’s the most important one and then after that we can be focused on Wednesday game. For sure I said already the other day, we don’t have time enough to recover the energy, so for sure we need to rotate and we need two change things and the reason why is because from Sunday to Wednesday, there is no time enough to recover energy or at least if we were both club in the same situation, us and Betis, was quite different, but because they play today, so they have two days more, so we need to make some changes."
4. 01:41 SOUNDBITE (English): Enzo Maresca, Chelsea head coach:
"The problem is that we have a game Sunday and Wednesday, European competition final. No one is cared about that."
5. 01:51 SOUNDBITE (English): Enzo Maresca, Chelsea head coach:
"But no-one care about players healthy (welfare)."
(Q: How do you manage that?)
"Nothing. If they’re going to be tired, they’re not going to play. You can manage that. It’s simply like that. But I don’t think there is many attention about players being healthy or these kinds of things. Otherwise, it’s not normal. The amount of game that they played."
6. 02:18 SOUNDBITE (English): Enzo Maresca, Chelsea head coach:
"But that’s why I said that for me it’s not normal and it’s not correct and I can understand that people is thinking yeah but they earn much money, lots of money, but it’s not about money, it’s (about) healthy, it’s to protect the players and my feeling is because of the amount of game that they played, I don’t think they (FIFA) pay attention to that."

STORYLINE:
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca said on Friday that he might be forced to rest senior players at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup because of the amount of games that are demanded of them.
"No-one cares about player welfare," he said. "We will have to make some changes."
Maresca was speaking before Chelsea’s final Premier League game of the season at Nottingham Forest on Sunday, a game they must win in order to make sure of Champions League football next season – Forest are also in the running for a top five finish.
On Wednesday Chelsea will be in Wroclaw, Poland for the UEFA Conference League Final against Real Betis.
"The problem is that we have a game Sunday and Wednesday, a European final," Maresca, said. "No-one cares about that. No one cares about player welfare."
