"The night was pretty bad, to put it politely, because there were constant explosions. I was in the corridor, constant shoot downs, the work of our forces (air defense forces). And, so, at the last moment, when I realized that the sound was very bad. I just laid down in the corridor and there was this bright flash and that was it. I didn’t realize what was happening. The only thing was that everything was a blur. I immediately grabbed my backpack, threw a couple of respirators and gloves in there, because I didn’t know where it was yet. And then somewhere in the window I saw flames. I ran out and saw what was happening here. So, the locals, who were residents, rushed to the entrance. There was a lot of smoke on the fifth floor. They were already going up there in spacers, but they were not helping. We took out as many people as we could. Then the State Emergency Service and the police worked and restricted access to the upper floors."

STORYLINE:
A number of people were injured in Ukraine’s capital early on Saturday as Russia launched a massive combined drone and missile attack.
Explosions were heard throughout Kyiv and many residents sought shelter in the underground subway stations.
Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said drone debris fell on a shopping mall and a residential building in the Obolon district of the capital.
He added that at least eight people had been injured, and that two of them needed hospitalisation.
Debris of intercepted missiles and drones also fell in at least four districts of the capital, according to the acting head of the Kyiv military administration.
He added that two fires had erupted in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv.
Medic Vladyslav said "the night was pretty bad, to put it politely, because there were constant explosions."
As firefighters tried to extinguish the blazes, the buzzing noises of Shahed engines could be heard flying in the vicinity as air defences tried to intercept drones with machine gun fire and other weaponry.
The nighttime Russian attack came hours after Russia and Ukraine began a major prisoner exchange, in the first phase of an exchange that was agreed on by the two sides at a meeting in Istanbul last week.
