STORYLINE:
Hasan Hadi, Mascha Schilinski and Akinola Davies Jr. were some the winners at Cannes sharing their reaction on Saturday evening.
Both Hasan Hadi who won the Camera d’Or for "The President’s Cake" and Akinola Davies Jr. who won a special mention for "In The Shadow of my Father" said the wins were overwhelming.
"I just can’t thank the crew and the cast enough. I can’t thank the festival and the audiences enough. Everyone who’s come up to me during the festival just to say really kind words really means a lot," said Davies Jr.
German director Mascha Schilinski who won the Jury Prize for her film "The Sound of Falling" (ex-aequo with "Sirat") said the trophy was wonderful.
"So, so great. Women worked so hard on this project and that we can show this now here to the world and yeah, it’s just amazing."
