STORYLINE:
Awards contenders arrived for the closing of the 78th Cannes Film festival on Saturday.
"Sirât" director Óliver Laxe, "The Little Sister" director Hafsia Herzi, and "It Was Just An Accident" filmmaker Jafar Panahi are among those in the running for the Palme d’Or – the festival’s top prize.
The winner will be decided by the jury, headed by Juliette Binoche.
Binoche was joined on the red carpet by fellow jury members Halle Berry, Carlos Reygadas, Dieudo Hamadi, Payal Kapadia, Juliette Binoche, Alba Rohrwacher, Hong Sang-soo, Leïla Slimani and Jeremy Strong
The Palme d’Or will be awarded to one of the 22 films in competition.
