STORYLINE:
A number of people were injured in Ukraine’s capital early on Saturday as Russia launched a massive combined drone and missile attack.
Explosions were heard throughout Kyiv and many residents sought shelter in the underground subway stations.
The debris of intercepted missiles and drones fell in at least four districts of the capital, the acting head of the Kyiv military administration wrote on Telegram.
He added that six people required medical care after the attack, and that two fires erupted in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv.
The nighttime Russian attack came hours after Russia and Ukraine began a major prisoner exchange, in the first phase of an exchange that was agreed on by the two sides at a meeting in Istanbul last week.
