There is growing concern that Grant Hardin, a former police chief who escaped from jail, may be hiding out in a cave. Hardin was convicted of the 2017 murder of local town worker James Appleton and the rape of his former school teacher, Amy Harrison, in 1997. Another theory is Hardin, also known as the ‘"Devil in the Ozarks," may have floated to freedom down a deep and broad river that runs close to the prison he busted out of. Hardin escaped from prison dressed in a fake guard uniform.
