Polish candidates Rafał Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki were cheered by supporters at their respective parties’ headquarters in Warsaw on Sunday evening after polls closed in the country’s presidential election.
An exit poll in the runoff on Sunday showed the two candidates were very close and that the race was still too close to call.
An Ipsos exit poll predicted that liberal Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski won 50.3% of the vote and conservative historian Karol Nawrocki won 49.7%.
