Medvedev: Peace talks aim for ‘swift and complete Russian victory’ | DW News

The latest round of peace talks between Ukraine and Russia have concluded in Istanbul. There was no breakthrough on how to bring the war to an end after more than three years of fighting. Moscow’s delegation presented a document to the Ukrainians setting out the Kremlin’s terms for a ceasefire.

Russian media say they include a demand for Ukraine to withdraw its forces from four regions. Kyiv says it needs to evaluate the document before giving a response. Top Russian security official Dmitry Medvedev said in a Telegram post that the point of holding peace talks with Ukraine is to ensure a ‘swift and complete Russian victory.’
