STORYLINE:
A rally in Kathmandu marked the 72nd anniversary of the conquest of Mount Everest on Thursday.

Participants held photos and banners of legendary climbers that have scaled the world’s tallest peak over the years.

In 1953 Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay made history as the first to reach the summit of Everest, which is known as Sagarmatha in Nepal.
