STORYLINE:
Supporters of former president Evo Morales demanding his reinstatement in the August presidential elections have clashed with police near the Government Palace.
Morales was barred by a constitutional ruling and failed to register his candidacy.
He faces an arrest warrant for a separate legal case.
His supporters argue that without him, there’s no democracy, blaming President Luis Arce for a "judicial plot."
The ruling MAS party, which has governed for 18 years, is fractured by this dispute.
