LIVE: New Zealand parliament debates suspending Māori lawmakers who performed protest haka

Watch live as a debate is held in the New Zealand parliament to discuss suspensions of three Māori Party legislators who performed a protest haka in the debating chamber last year. The haka is a chanting dance of challenge of great cultural importance in New Zealand, and the three lawmakers – Hana-Rāwhiti Maipi-Clarke, Rawiri Waititi and Debbie Ngarewa-Packer – performed one last November to oppose a controversial bill that would have redefined the country’s founding document.
