"I’m experiencing an influx in prices in products that I need. You know, just small things like a bottle of glue going from $8 to now $14.99, which is almost double the prices. That goes into my bottom line. So when it comes to like, pricing my services and you know, bringing that to a client, I’m having to cover those costs on the back end."

"Clients pay attention to where they’re spending their money, you know, so, when they’re sitting in the chair and they’re like, ‘OK, my sew-in used to be $200, why is it $250 now?’ you know, and I have to explain to them, you know, what’s going on and have that conversation. Some people are OK with it, but for a lot of people they’re like, ‘OK, I won’t be seeing you for a little while. I’m gonna go have to find somebody that fits within my budget.’"

"All of the beauty supply stores are likely to be affected. The budding industry of Black-owned beauty supplies are going to be affected more immediately and more adversely because they did not have the resources, many of them, to stock up on the supply of products in anticipation of this increase, the way some of the stores that have been in business for a longer period of time are able to do."
