The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) – controversial US and Israel-backed aid network – will not immediately resume distributing aid after a full-day closure on Wednesday.
The Israeli military warned Palestinians on Wednesday not to approach GHF aid distribution sites while “reorganisation work” was under way, saying that access roads to those locations would be “considered combat zones”.
At least 27 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire close to a distribution centre on Tuesday, according to the Hamas-run Civil Defence Agency.
The IDF said that its troops fired shots after identifying suspects who moved towards them "deviating from the designated access routes".
GHF said operations will restart when maintenance and repair work on its distribution sites is complete.
