Video captured a man swinging an axe at the San Diego Public Library. In just-released video, the man can be seen shouting at library patrons. He slammed his axe on tables and smashed computers. When police arrived, they found 52-year-old William John Hanley on the sidewalk still holding the axe. Hanley reared back seemingly as if to throw the axe before an officer fired their gun. The incident in San Diego is the latest crime in a surge sweeping the nation’s public libraries.
