“I love watching comedies. I think I wanted to try and be an actress because of comedies I watched as a child and as a teenager. And in that movie, the important thing I think Laura was asking me was try not to be too cynical and to understand that her movie is playing with rom-coms, with the symbols, but she didn’t want it to be a satire. She didn’t want it be a parody, I don’t know how to say parody in English, a satire. So we couldn’t make it just funny or just like make all the traditional romantic scenes like sketches. We could do it in rehearsal to have fun, because that’s something I really like to do, but she wanted it to be, like you’re saying, maybe more subtle.”
