STORYLINE:
South Korea’s President Lee Jae-myung paid a visit to the Seoul National Cemetery on Friday, where he pledged to support and reward "national patriots".

"Creating a country in which people don’t have to worry about wars, creating a safe country where everyday life is stable," Lee said as he led South Korea’s 70th Memorial Day commemoration.

"This will be the most responsible way to answer noble sacrifices and dedications."

Friday’s Memorial Day ceremony was Lee’s first time leading a national commemorative day event.

The event was attended by approximately 4,000 people.
