Russia has launched one of the biggest air attacks on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv since the start of the war. The Kremlin says the bombardments are in retaliation for recent attacks on Russia, including strikes on long-range bombers at air bases. A Russian drone attack has also destroyed medical facilities in Odesa.
Meanwhile, the European Union has announced a new package of sanctions against Russia over the war in Ukraine. Measures include lowering a cap on the price of Russian oil exports.
