The Belarusian opposition leader in exile has told DW that Belarus has strategic importance for the security of NATO and the EU. Speaking during a visit to Brussels, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya says as long as the country’s dictator Alexander Lukashenko remains in place, Belarus will be part of Russian hybrid warfare efforts, playing a role in a possible military escalation of the war in Ukraine.
